With a new year quickly approaching, it’s time to start it off with an organized, refreshed home. This will pave the way to productivity and creativity that will spark new opportunities and help you achieve your goals. Today I’m coming at you with twelve spaces that you should declutter to kickstart that organizing process. Let's go!

1. Your purse

Start your decluttering journey small with something you bring with you everywhere: your purse. It’s an essential item, but it can turn into a bottomless pit that leaves us digging around for our stuff. It’s easy to revamp your purse organization, and it will save you so much time and frustration!

2. Your junk drawer

Don’t be ashamed, we all have one. While they can get hectic, they’re an organization system on their own because it’s a space to store miscellaneous items! But, what if that space itself was organized? It’s time to toss what you don’t need and categorize what you do to make your life a little easier.

3. The car

We spend a lot of time in our cars, and before you know it, you’re surrounded by the clutter of being on-the-go. Fortunately, decluttering and organizing your car can be done in easy steps, and it will make your time spent on the road more enjoyable!

4. Your bathroom

Your bathroom should feel like a spa, not a cluttered and dirty space. By getting rid of extra stuff and organizing what you need, you can create a functional and calming space. If you have an organized, clean bathroom, spending time in there will feel more like an oasis.

5. Your linen closet

Linen closets can be super functional if they are organized and clutter-free. Your linen closet needs to meet your needs and be structured in a way that makes sense with the lifestyle of your home. Trust me, having this space decluttered will make your life so much easier!

6. Your closet

Choosing your outfits in the morning should be exciting, but sometimes we find ourselves getting frustrated rummaging for items. Decluttering your closet not only makes things look more aesthetic, but it saves you time and makes getting ready fun!

7. Your office space

Many of us are working from home these days, which means having an organized office space is essential! The more clutter and chaos, the less productive and clear-minded you will be. That being said, it’s time to ditch the trash, papers, and office supplies that are eating up your space.

8. The playroom or craft room

You may avoid tackling the playroom because it seems like a helpless cause. You organize it, then it gets messy again in the blink of an eye. If you declutter the space, it will be easier to organize it in a way that works for you. This will make it easier to clean and make it easier to keep organized.

9. Your refrigerator

Have you ever been looking in your fridge and found something that has expired over a year ago? Or leftovers that you told yourself you would eat? This space is prone to get pretty gross, so it’s important to declutter it often to maintain a clean and neat space.

10. The pantry

Aside from the aesthetics, an organized pantry is essential, especially if you have a full house. It can be a challenge keeping everything in order, and it can get out of hand quickly. Luckily for you, there are simple methods to decluttering and organizing your pantry that will make life in the kitchen peaceful.

11. Your kitchen

Speaking of kitchens, this can be a scary space to deal with. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and it’s usually where we have family and guests gather. This means the space should be refreshed and functional. I think we can all agree that a clutter-free and clean kitchen is goals.

12. Your garage or storage area

It’s finally time to tackle the scariest space.. The garage (and if you don’t have a garage, the storage area). This is usually the catch-all space where everything is dropped. This project will take dedication, but the result will be a lifesaver!

For all of these areas, start by taking everything out. This will make it easier to decide what to keep and what to throw away. From there, organize according to what works for YOU, and you’ll find yourself feeling refreshed and peaceful before you know it.
