My productivity tool roundup

We have a LOT to keep up with in life – work and/or school, grocery shopping, a fitness routine, a social life the list goes on and on. It can be difficult to keep track of everything, especially if all of your to-do lists, notes, etc. live separately from one another, which can lead to procrastination and forgetfulness.

That's where digital productivity tools come into play. Using an app can be immensely helpful in keeping track of everything you have to (and want to!) do, but which one is best for you? Take a look at the list below – I've gathered a few of my favorite productivity apps and laid out their pros and cons to help you decide which to try depending on what features are most important to you!

Evernote

Overview: This productivity app is the winner in my book, no doubt. It's one of the best tools when it comes to note taking and scheduling tasks, as it keeps everything hyper-organized and easy to navigate. One thing I especially love about Evernote is that it gives you the ability to personalize pretty much everything – you can use audio and video, draw diagrams and charts, and more! With in-text search and the ability to annotate PDFs and images, this platform is great for students AND professionals. But don't think that means you can't use it in your personal life, too – it integrates with your Google Calendar, meaning you can link to-do lists and notes to different events and invitations, keeping everything in one place!

Biggest pro: SO many templates to choose from, including ones you didn't even know you needed

Biggest con: To be honest... I don't really have any cons with Evernote!

Rating: 5/5

Price: $14.99/month

OneNote

Overview: OneNote is a digital notebook app that's pretty similar to Evernote. If you're familiar with Microsoft tools and applications, you might like OneNote more, since there will be a bit less of a learning curve navigating the interface. With OneNote, you can create notebooks for all areas of your life and keep countless notes within each of those notebooks, keeping your projects, tasks, and more organized in a way that makes sense for you.

Biggest pro: One of the most extensive apps on the market that you can use for free

Biggest con: Unable to integrate with many other platforms

Rating: 4/5

Price: Free

ToDoIst

Overview: Struggling to find a way to manage your hefty to-do lists? Look no further than this productivity app. Easily assign tasks a priority level, categorize them, and set reminders based on your needs! Not only does ToDoIst manage your to-do lists, but it can also work as a project management tool, meaning you can assign to-do lists to a particular parent project and track your progress on each item. What I love about this app is that you can make lists as simple as you want OR create more detailed ones if needed. Plus, it gives you the ability to share and sync your lists and files if you're working on a team! ToDoIst is free, but it comes with a premium version for a more advanced experience.

Biggest pro: Can prioritize your tasks so you're always making progress on your most important to-dos

Biggest con: No note taking capabilities

Rating: 4/5

Me+

Overview: If you want a productivity app that encapsulates the entire human experience, Me+ might be for you. It incorporates a lot of self-care features that you won't find in many other tools, such as meditations, workout plans, and more. Of course, Me+ offers plenty of productivity features as well, like a daily routine planner and checklists, and you can even view your completion analytics to keep you motivated. Bonus? It even has a mood tracking feature so you can monitor what you did on the days you felt good versus bad, and boost your mood accordingly! Take the first step to your self-care journey and download Me+ – it's worth checking out!

Biggest pro: Holistic focus – templates for self-care plans, meditations, workouts, and more available

Biggest con: Less focused on productivity/planning, so lacking some features (i.e. no desktop version)

Sunsama

Overview: Sunsama is a comprehensive platform that is bound to boost your productivity levels. Although it's a smidge more expensive than some other paid apps I've mentioned, it provides you with SO many useful that will ensure you stay motivated. You can plan your days and assign tasks at large, or the app offers a "focus" setting, which allows you to focus on the day at hand. In addition, you can add weekly objectives, give tasks subtasks, and allot how much time a task will take so you can drag and drop it right into your calendar. Keep track of emails, projects, tasks, and more while creating a personalized, productive plan for each day with Sunsama!

Biggest pro: Ability to integrate with TONS of other apps/platforms, such as Stack, Jira, ClickUp, and more

Biggest con: Most expensive option among the ones listed in this blog post
